Rescue Team Finds An-24 Angara Airlines Plane Debris That Disappeared In The Amur Region

JAKARTA - The search team for Anggara Airlines' Antonov An-24 plane, which had lost contact in the Amur Region, managed to find the fuselage that caught fire from air monitoring.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency reported that the discovery was carried out by a helicopter belonging to the government agency while conducting a search operation.

"During the search operation, the Mi-8 helicopter belonging to the Federal Air Transport Agency found the fuselage on fire. Rescue teams continued to move towards the scene," the report said, quoted by RIA Novosti.

As previously reported, the Antonov An-24 passenger plane carrying 46 passengers and crew lost communication in the Amur Region, Russia, according to emergency response services.

"An An-24 operated by Angara Airlines failed to make contact at a checkpoint set a few kilometers from Tynda Airport," a source told TASS.

The plane carried 40 passengers, including two children, along with six crew members, he continued.

Angara Airlines flights departed from Blagoveshchensk to Tynda at 12.58 local time and stopped communicating after circling.

Meanwhile, the Emergency Ministry said the plane, operated by Siberia-based Anggara airline, disappeared from its radar screen as it approached its destination in Tynda, a city in the Amur region bordering China.
