JAYAPURA - The Cartenz Peace Task Force team arrested a member of the armed criminal group (KKB) Roberth Wenda alias Criminal Hesegem (26), the perpetrator of the shooting of a member of the Jayawijaya Police, Bripka Marsidon Debataraja.
Head of Operations for the Cartenz Peace Task Force Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani said the arrests were made on Wednesday, July 23, in Senarekoa Maplima Village, Wouma District, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Mountains.
"Roberth Wenda was the perpetrator of the shooting of Bripka Marsidon Debataraja in front of Wamena Hospital on May 28," said Faizal when contacted from Jayapura, Antara, Thursday, July 24.
Bripka Marsidon, who served in the Jayawijaya Police Traffic Unit, was shot after escorting the traffic accident victim to the hospital.
Faizal said that Roberth was also on the wanted list (DPO) from the Class IIA Narcotics Prison, Doyo, Jayapura Regency, after fleeing in August 2024.
During the arrest, officers found six rounds of caliber ammunition 7.62 millimeters in the perpetrator's noken (traditional bag).
"Currently, investigators are still investigating the person concerned," said Faizal.
