The Ministry Of Health Regarding Allegations Of Corruption By PMT Toddlers And Pregnant Women Investigated By The KPK: Occurred In The Era Before BGS

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) confirmed that the alleged corruption in the additional food procurement program (PMT) for toddlers and pregnant women occurred before Budi Gunadi Sadikin took office.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Communication and Public Service Bureau of the Ministry of Health, Aji Muharwan, when asked about the investigation that was being carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This striking practice occurred in the 2016-2020 period.

"The case occurred in the period 2016-2020 before the era of the leadership of Minister of Health Budi Sadikin," said Aji when contacted by VOI, Friday, July 18.

Even so, the Ministry of Health appreciates the investigation process. "And submit the process carried out according to the authority of the KPK," he said.

In the future, Aji emphasized that the Ministry of Health is ready to improve regulatory governance. Supervision of PMT programs for toddlers and pregnant women also continues.

"The Ministry of Health has also supervised the alleged case and has reported the results to the KPK for improved governance and compliance with regulations," he said.

"If it is proven that there is a violation of the law, of course, it must follow the process of further legal action," continued Aji.

Previously reported, the KPK confirmed that it was investigating allegations of corruption related to the procurement of additional food (PMT) for toddlers and pregnant women. The process is said to be carried out by the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes).

"The related corruption crime is still being investigated," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday night, July 17.

Asep did not want to elaborate on the investigation. This is because this activity is usually closed and only conveyed when it goes up to the investigation stage.

However, based on information collected, the investigation was carried out in early 2024. This alleged rasuah is allegedly rolling in 2016-2020.
