Riza Chalid Is Not In Singapore, The Attorney General's Office Is Tracking Him To Other Countries

JAKARTA - Efforts to trace the suspect in the corruption case of raw oil management Mohammad Riza Chalid (MRC) encountered obstacles. The Singapore government denies Riza being in its territory, forcing the Attorney General's Office (AGO) to search for traces of him to other countries.

"This means that we have confirmed that the person concerned is not there. This means that we are trying to establish information with other neighboring countries," said Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) AGO Anang Supriatna in Jakarta, Thursday, July 17.

The AGO appreciates Singapore's open stance in conveying this immigration information. Anang emphasized that his party will continue to accommodate all new information that has the potential to reveal the presence of the oil entrepreneur.

"What is clear, if there is information on existence that can show, we accommodate and we will cooperate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," added Anang.

Investigators are currently preparing an official summons to Riza Chalid to undergo an examination as a suspect. However, the exact date of the summons has not been determined.

According to Anang, the summons will be sent to Riza's address, which is still registered in Indonesia. He also hopes that Riza Chalid will cooperate and fulfill the call.

"Hopefully, we hope that the person concerned will be cooperative in attending as a good citizen," he said.

Previously, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore (MFA) officially stated that Riza Chalid was not in Singapore and had not even entered their territory for a long time.

"Our immigration record shows Muhammad Riza Chalid not being in Singapore and has not been in Singapore for some time," the MFA statement was quoted as saying in an official statement.

Even so, Singapore still expresses its commitment to assisting Indonesia in tracking suspects, in accordance with legal limits and international obligations.
