JAKARTA - Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) Judha Nugraha confirmed that no Indonesian citizen (WNI) died as a result of a mass fight between a number of Bangladeshi residents in a development project.

"No Indonesian citizen died because of the fight," said Judha, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 16.

Judha explained that the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) Kuala Lumpur had received information regarding mass fighting incidents between a number of Indonesian and Bangladeshi migrant workers at the Bangsar Hill Park construction project site on Monday (14/7) at around 11.25 local time.

"The fight occurred because of a misunderstanding between workers," he said.

The incident resulted in an Indonesian citizen with the initials S being found unconscious at the scene.

The Indonesian citizen was then immediately rushed to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for medical treatment and currently S has been discharged from the hospital.

Pascapenyelidikan yang dilakukan oleh Balai Polisploy, kepolisian menangkap sembilan orang pekerja warga negara Bangladesh.

"The current situation is under control and the project management has taken the first steps to separate groups and increase monitoring to prevent similar incidents," Judha said.
