Youth Groups Involved In Clashes In Senen, 9 People From Work Groups, Ojol And Students Arrested

JAKARTA - Two groups of youths were involved in a brawl on Jalan Kramat Raya, Senen District, Central Jakarta. A total of 9 youths involved in a brawl were arrested by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Samapta Unit Precision Pioneer Patrol Team.

The nine perpetrators had the initials HH (32), MR (16), NA (32), A (21), DA (19), MF (21), REP (21), MJ (18), and MS (23). They come from students, traders, private workers, online motorcycle taxis, to parking attendants.

Of the 9 perpetrators involved in the brawl, the police confiscated 3 sickle blades as evidence. The police also confiscated three motorbikes belonging to the perpetrators of the brawl.

Currently, the nine perpetrators along with evidence have been handed over to the Senen Police for further investigation.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro said his party continues to aggressively patrol points prone to brawls and street crimes.

"We have mobilized the Precision Pioneer Patrol to suppress brawls, motorcycle gangs, and other street crimes," he said when confirmed, Monday, July 14, 2025.

The arrests began when the patrol team carried out routine activities. The team found a group of children who were carrying out a brawl.

"We immediately gave chase and managed to secure nine people along with three sharp sickle-type weapons that were thrown away by the perpetrators," he said.

"There is no tolerance for perpetrators who are troubling the community," he added.

The police chief appealed to parents to always supervise their children, especially when leaving the house at night.

"We ask parents to take care of their children, remind them if they come out at night, make sure there are clear interests, and direct them to positive activities for their future," he said.

For their actions, the perpetrators were subject to Article 2 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 concerning Sharp Weapon Ownership with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
