The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the Polda Metro Jaya appealed to the public to avoid access to the National Monument (Monas) area on Tuesday, July 1, because the commemoration of the 79th Bhayangkara Day will take place which is predicted to cause traffic jams.

"We inform the public to avoid roads to the Monas area from morning to evening, because it is estimated that the traffic flow will be crowded," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Komarudin in Jakarta, Monday (30/6/2025) quoted from Antara.

A number of recommended roads are avoided, including Sudirman-Thamrin Street, Tomang-Harmoni Street, Juanda-Veteran Street, Banteng Field area, Tugu Tani area, Gunung Sahari Street, Benjamin Sueb Street, and Medan Merdeka Street which surrounds Monas.

Komarudin added that traffic engineering will be applied situationally, depending on conditions on the ground.

He also conveyed that a circular regarding the work from home (WFH) policy had been issued by the National Police Headquarters.

"The central committee from the National Police Headquarters has issued circulars, urging offices around the Monas area to implement WFH on that day in order to avoid congestion and ensure that activities continue to run smoothly," he continued.

Previously, the National Police had deployed around 5,800 joint personnel to secure the 79th Bhayangkara Day ceremony at Monas.

Security will be strengthened by an integrated post that functions to monitor the flow of information, traffic movements, and regulate parking areas for guests.

"Given that President Prabowo Subianto will be present in person at the ceremony, security will certainly be carried out optimally," he said.
