Examined As A Defendant, Hasto Bantah Talangi Bribes Management Of PAW Harun Masiku

The Secretary General (Sekjen) of the PDI-P (PDIP), Hasto Kristiyanto, denied that he had participated in bribery for the management of the Inter-Time Substitution (PAW) Harun Masiku. This is because the term bailout came from the statement of the former PDIP cadre, Saeful Bahri, to deceive his wife.

This statement was made by Hasto Kristiyanto when he was examined as a defendant in the trial of the alleged bribery case for the administration of the DPR PAW for the 2019-2024 period and the obstruction of Harun Masiku's investigation.

"Regarding Saeful and Donny's conversation, who said that later it was the defendant's brother who would hold the bailout, the bailout fund for Harun Masiku's management of Rp. 1.5 billion did there really exist?" asked the prosecutor during a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Thursday, June 26.

"It's not true, if Saeful said earlier that I am WA brother Saeful, I will cover the funds, it may be broadcastable, because what is clear is the confession of brother Saeful and also in the facts of the previous trial, it is that the term emergence of the bailout fund was the first time because Saeful's brother lied to his wife," replied Hasto.

"When I came home late and then used my name, claiming that there was a bailout fund from me. There was no conversation from me to Saeful or from me to Dony or Harun Masiku to say that my approval was bailout funds because I didn't know at all about the operational funds," he continued.

In addition, Hasto also denied that the source of the Rp400 million money entrusted by Donny Tri Istiqomah to the PDIP DPP secretariat staff, Kusnadi, came from him. He emphasized that Hasto did not know anything about money.

"That's not true," replied Hasto.

"This is a statement from Donny, sir, and it was agreed with Saeful Bahri at that time," said the prosecutor.

"Yes, but Donny under oath also stated that there was no such information," said Hasto.

"Yes, I will quote this from Donny," said the prosecutor.

"Yes, it's not my funds," said Hasto.

In this case, Hasto together with advocate Donny Tri Istiqomah, former PDIP cadre Saeful Bahri, and Harun Masiku were charged with giving bribes of Rp 600 million to Wahyu Setiawan (KPU commissioner) in the 2019-2020 period.

This bribe is so that Wahyu seeks the KPU to approve the application of PAW for the South Sumatra Election Candidate (Sumsel) I on behalf of DPR members for the 2019-2024 period Riezky Aprilia to Harun Masiku.

Hasto was also charged with obstructing the investigation by ordering Harun, through the Aspiration House guard, Nur Hasan, to submerge Harun's cell phone into the water after the KPK OTT incident against Wahyu Setiawan.

Not only Harun Masiku's cellphone, Hasto is also said to have ordered his aide, Kusnadi, to drown his cell phone in anticipation of forced attempts by KPK investigators.

Hasto was charged with Article 21 and Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 13 of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 65 paragraph (1) and Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
