JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Hasbiallah Ilyas, responded to the results of the latest Kompas Research and Development survey showing the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, achieving a high level of positive image in the eyes of the public.
According to Hasbiallah, the results of the survey show that the public has high hopes for Pramono-Rano's leadership in Jakarta. However, he stressed that the achievement of this positive image should be proven by improving performance and better service to the people of the capital city.
"This positive image is a very important social capital. But this capital must be used to work harder, improve public services, and solve basic problems for Jakarta residents, such as congestion, flooding, and social inequality," said Hasbiallah, Monday, June 23.
The PKB legislator from the Jakarta I electoral district assessed that public expectations of Jakarta's leaders were very high, especially in the midst of the growing political and social dynamics.
Therefore, Hasbiallah asked Governor Pramono Anung and Deputy Governor Rano Karno not to be complacent with the survey results and continue to maintain integrity and commitment in running the government wheels.
"The survey is a reflection of today's public opinion. But the challenges ahead remain real and complex. The provincial government must be responsive, innovative, and close to the people," he said.
The chairman of the DKI Jakarta PKB DPW stated that his party will continue to oversee the performance of the DKI Provincial Government in order to ensure that its policies and programs are truly in favor of the interests of the community.
"We hope that the program will run well and smoothly for the benefit of the people of Jakarta," he said.
