Gorontalo Police Propam Detains Police Perpetrators Of Sexual Violence In Special Cells

GORONTALO - The Profession and Security Division (Propam) of the Gorontalo Police has detained a member of the National Police who was involved in a case of alleged sexual violence in Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo.

Head of Public Relations (Head of Public Relations) of the Gorontalo Police, Kombes Desmont Harjendro, explained that the member of the National Police who served at the Bone Bolango Police had been withdrawn to the Gorontalo Police and is currently being held in a special room.

"Previously this case was handled by the Bone Bolango Police Propam, then transferred to the Regional Police Propam as a form of follow-up to handling this case," said Desmont as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 12.

He explained that the member of the National Police who served at the Bone Bolango Police was reported by the victim's family and attorney on Saturday (28/05), for the alleged sexual violence against a student.

In addition to the alleged sexual violence, he said, it is possible that there will be a criminal act in a case that is currently being handled, because the alleged perpetrator is an adult and has a family.

However, he said, currently the Gorontalo Police Propam will still conduct an examination of witnesses and other related parties.

Regarding the alleged sexual violence case, it is possible that the alleged perpetrator will be threatened with sanctions in the form of Disrespectful Dismissal (PTDH).

In handling this case, the Gorontalo Police are committed to carrying out a series of professional legal procedures in accordance with applicable regulations.

"What is clear is that this case is being processed and we are handling it professionally. For the development of its handling, we will convey it back openly to the public as a form of our transparency in handling cases," he added.
