Confirm 1,451 Judges, President Prabowo: You Are The Last Fort Of Justice

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that judges have an important role in the justice system as the last bastion of justice.

"I emphasize how important the judges are. You are the last bastion of justice," Prabowo said while giving a speech at the inauguration ceremony of 1,451 judges at the Supreme Court Building (MA), Jakarta, Thursday, June 12, which was confiscated by Antara.

The President said the judge was the last bastion of justice which became the foundation of the people's hopes, especially the poor and small groups.

According to Prabowo, small communities can only rely on fair judges in fighting for justice. This is different from those who have strength or wealth, who are considered to have greater access to legal aid.

In this situation, the President considered that the existence of judges who could not be bribed, could not be bought, and had a love for justice and the people became very important.

"Small people only depend on fair judges, judges who cannot be bribed, judges who cannot be bought, judges who love justice, judges who love the people," said the President.

The Head of State stated that the Indonesian people really depend on the integrity of the judges. As a form of commitment, the President instructed his ministers to raise the salaries of all judges in Indonesia.

"It's good to be President, it's just orders, the ministers are dizzy, especially the Minister of Finance. I ask to be raised, come to me like this, sir, it's not enough. If necessary I will reduce other budgets," said Prabowo.

The President also announced an increase in the judge's salary to the highest reaching 280 percent of the current salary aimed at the juniortical group.

The President assessed that his decision to raise the judges' salaries to improve the welfare of authorized officials to try and decide the case.

"I am Prabowo Subianto, the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia, to announce today that the judges' salaries will be raised for the welfare of the judges," said Prabowo.

Prabowo said the judge's salary increase varied, but the highest reached 280 percent for the juniortical group.

After announcing the judge's salary increase, Prabowo was greeted with lively applause by the judges who had just been confirmed.

On the other hand, the Head of State stated that he would oversee the increase in salaries for the judge.
