JAKARTA - The Bandung City Police (Polresta) stated that the attempt to smuggle methamphetamine-type narcotics to the Class IIA Ukiong Correctional Institution (Lapas), Bandung Regency, West Java, using drones was a new mode that was first revealed.

Bandung Police Chief Kombes Pol Aldi Subartono said the smuggling of 25 grams of methamphetamine failed thanks to the alertness of prison officers who immediately recorded the drone movement when entering the prison area on Sunday, June 8.

"So far, this is the first time we have used drones. "We are still investigating whether this is the first time or has it repeated. But what is clear is that this is a new mode and we are developing it to reveal other perpetrators outside the prison," he said.

Aldi said that his party was working with the Baduk Prison in handling this case, including analyzing the flying points and the types of drones used.
