TNI Destroys Four Hectares Of Cannabis Fields In North Aceh Hills

BANDA ACEH - TNI personnel from Korem 011/Lilawangsa destroyed marijuana plants in a four-hectare field in the hilly area of Alue Ie Seuke Hamlet and Alue Garot Gampong, Teupin Reusep, Sawang District, North Aceh Regency.

"Today it was found that more than four hectares of marijuana fields in two separate locations in Teupin Reuep Village, North Aceh Regency," said Head of Intelligence Korem 011/Lilawangsa, Major Inf Jahril Fahmi, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 26.

The destruction was carried out by TNI personnel from Korem 011/Lilawangsa together with a joint team from BNN, Polres and Kodim 0103/North Aceh. The location is five kilometers from the last road access in the area. The destruction is carried out by pulling and burning it.

The marijuana is estimated to be more than three thousand stems, with varying heights, ranging from seeds to cannabis plants ready to harvest about two meters, for wet weight it is predicted to reach 1.8 tons.

Inf Major Jahrul Fahmi said the marijuana field was initially found by residents while carrying out activities in the forest such as hunting and gardening, then they reported to the nearest TNI Babinsa.

"Last week, Wednesday (21/5) a one hectare marijuana field was also found around 1,400 trees, an average height of 50 to 1.5 meters, weighing 700 kg wet, and now it has been found again," he said.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator or owner of the marijuana field is not yet known. However, the team will continue to develop. In fact, there is a possibility that there are other marijuana fields in the area.

The perpetrator is said to have deliberately planted marijuana on the sidelines of a pinang tree to trick the officers so that it is difficult to detect if monitoring is carried out using drones.
