Bekasi Metro Police Arrested A Gang Of Thieves

The three perpetrators of the theft syndicate along with evidence were secured by the Jatanras Team of the Bekasi Metro Police, Sunday (25/5/2025). (ANTARA).

The syndicate of motor vehicle theft (curanmor) which has been troubling residents in the Bekasi Regency area has finally been successfully dismantled. The Bekasi Metro Police Jatanras team revealed this case through a special operation in Sukatani District, last weekend.

"Three people we arrested in this theft case, namely TS (31), LS (26), and RH (32)," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bekasi Metro Police, Kompol Ongkoseno Grandiarso Sukahar, in Cikarang, Sunday.

From the results of the investigation, it was known that TS and LS acted as perpetrators of the field, namely executors and jockeys, while RH alias Bolasa served as collectors of stolen motorbikes.

This disclosure stems from reports from residents who lost two motorbikes in one night in Jagawana Village, Sukarukun Village, Sukatani District. Following up on the report, the police team immediately carried out patrols and monitoring at the location.

Suspicion arose when officers found two men with suspicious movements. When searched, a number of letter T keys were found which are usually used to break into vehicles. After being interrogated, both of them claimed to be the perpetrators of the motorcycle theft.

The information from the two leads to RH alias Sukawan, who is suspected of being a collector. Officers went straight to the location of his residence in Galian Village, Sukakerta Village, Sukawangi District, and managed to secure RH along with evidence.

The evidence that we have secured include a T key, a stolen Honda Vario motorcycle, and several cellphones. We are currently still investigating the whereabouts of other evidence," said Ongkoseno.

From the results of the examination, the three perpetrators claimed to have committed theft in 19 different locations, including 10 points in Bekasi Regency, five in Bogor, and four in Bekasi City.

The Head of Jatanras Polres Metro Bekasi, AKP Kukuh Setio Utomo, added that his party was still hunting for other suspects who had been on the wanted list (DPO). "We are developing this case further. One of the perpetrators who is still at large is known as Murdika," he explained.

Currently, the three perpetrators are in the custody of the Bekasi Metro Police Headquarters and charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft with weight and Article 480 of the Criminal Code related to the detention of goods resulting from crime.
