The National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BNN RI) raided a house belonging to a retired TNI on Jalan Tanah Tinggi, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday night, May 20, 2025. During the raid, officers confiscated 25 kilograms of methamphetamine with an estimated value of IDR 50 billion.

Two perpetrators with the initials YS and ZN were also arrested in the operation. One of the perpetrators, YS, is known to be a retired member of the TNI.

"Ready, soldier. Retired, ready," said YS when confirmed directly by the Head of BNN RI, Komjen Pol Martinus Hukom, at the scene.

The arrests were made when the perpetrators were suspected of being about to deliver 25 kilograms of methamphetamine. In his confession to the officer, YS stated that he received the methamphetamine on the street from someone who is currently still under investigation.

"Ready, on the street given (drugs). Ready, with people," said YS.

Apart from methamphetamine, officers also found an airsoft gun in the perpetrator's house.

"Ready, airsoft gun," YS replied when asked by BNN members about the presence of weapons.

Until now, the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency is still investigating the involvement of the two perpetrators in the narcotics trafficking network. It is strongly suspected that they are part of a cross-drug syndicate in Sumatra that operates to Jakarta.

Further investigations were carried out to uncover a wider network as well as the possible involvement of other parties, including the military background of one of the perpetrators.
