JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto conveyed that his program will be implemented in the near future, namely the People's School. Prabowo said this program is abroad, usually, for outstanding children. But, not in Indonesia because the target is different.

"This boarding school is usually in other countries, the boarding school is for thegilest. We will still do that but I will build a minimum of 100 per year for boarding schools for the poorest families," he said.

"Because I am determined to break the chain of poverty. If the father is a scavenger, his son should not be a scavenger. If his father is a pedicab driver, his son doesn't have to be a pedicab driver. If his father is in trouble, he doesn't have enough income, his son can't," continued the former Minister of Defense while pointing his index finger on the podium.

According to Prabowo, this program must be carried out with courage. "So this concept is being worked on, God willing, in July we may open, maybe the first 53-55 campuses," he said.

In addition to carefully discussing the concept, student selection has also been carried out. Prabowo emphasized that the requirements must be from poor families according to data from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of PAN-RB, and the Central Statistics Agency.
