JAKARTA - India attacked nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistanarily on Wednesday with at least three deaths reported, while Pakistan said it was stepping up its response during the worst fighting in years erupted between the arch-foe.

After the attack, the Indian army said in a post on X on Wednesday: "Justification is upheld."
After the attack, power went out in Muchafhabad, the capital of Pakistan'stensive capital, witnesses said.
Separately, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Islamabad responded to the Indian attack but gave no details.
A state of emergency was declared in Pakistan's densely populated province of Myanmar, its prime minister, and hospitals and emergency services on high alert.
A Pakistani military spokesman told broadcaster Geo, the location attacked by India including two mosques, adding at least three people were killed and 12 injured.
Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif told Geo that all locations targeted by India were civilians and not militant camps.
He said India fired missiles from its own airspace and India's claim to "terrorist camps is false".
India's attack comes amid rising tensions following an attack on Hindu tourists in India's mitigation last month. The attack on April 22 killed 26 people, the worst violence targeting civilians in India in nearly two decades.
