Regarding Solo Being A Special Region Of Surakarta, The Governor Of Central Java Is The Central Authority

JAKARTA - Central Java (Central Java) Governor Ahmad Luthfi responded to the proposal for the expansion of Solo City to become the Special Region of Surakarta (DIS) which was discussed during a hearing (RDP) of Commission II of the DPR. Luthfi stated that the proposal was the authority of the center, not the province.

"That's the central authority, the province has no authority," said Luthfi at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 30.

Luthfi admitted that there was no proposal for Solo to become a DIS from the Surakarta regional government to the Central Java Regional Government. Because according to him, this matter is the central authority.

"Nothing, it depends on the center, right, we don't have the authority. Not yet, there hasn't been (Solo submitted a proposal to become a special area, red)," said Luthfi.

Previously, a similar statement had been made by Ahmad Luthfi when reviewing the readiness of Ahmad Yani Airport to return to International Airport. Luthfi said that the proposal for Solo to become a DIS is the authority of the central government.

"So the Special Region of Solo is the central authority, not the authority of the province," said Luthfi, Monday, April 28.

Luthfi explained that his party must first review aspects of ideology, politics, economy, social and culture, defense, and security (ipoleksosbudhankam). However, he emphasized that the provincial expansion authority is in the central government.

"At least, we have to study related to ipoleksosbudhankam, but all its authority is at the center, not in the province, really," he said.

However, according to Luthfi, whatever the decision, the most important thing is to be able to grow the economy.

"But any principle in our region, the important thing is to be able to grow a new economy, please. But the verdict is not in the province, at the center," he concluded.
