Students Asked To Image Their Own Genitals, Dedi Mulyadi: I Will Fire Teachers!

JAKARTA - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi responded to the viral video about biological exams asking students to draw their own genitals. He stated that he would not tolerate this action and was ready to dismiss the teachers involved if they were proven to have violated education ethics.

"If the teacher is there, name the teacher from which school, which high school, tomorrow I will stop," said Dedi when met at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 29.

Dedi said the teacher's actions did not reflect the spirit of the world of education that should educate with ethical values. He also plans to go directly to the school in question.

The video in the public spotlight shows high school students in West Bandung Regency working on unusual biology, namely drawing their own genitals. The video was first uploaded by a biology teacher named Wety Yuningsih through her social media account.

Wety is known as a teacher who actively creates educational content on social media. But this time, his upload actually drew criticism. Netizens questioned the ethics of the given and the decision to publish it openly.

Responding to the criticism, Wety Yuningsih apologized through her TikTok account. He explained that the matter was part of the reproductive system material for grade 11 students. He admitted his mistake for not being careful in making and sharing the content.

"I apologize for not being careful in creating content. The material is indeed about the reproductive system, but I shouldn't have published it," Wety said.

He also stated that he had deleted the video, even though the video that had already been re-spreaded by other parties was out of control.

Governor Dedi Mulyadi's quick response received public attention and was considered an effort to maintain the dignity of education, which not only focused on substance, but also upholds ethical aspects.
