ASN DKI Provincial Government Mandatory Selfie When Riding Public Transportation Every Wednesday

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government requires State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to take selfies when using public transportation, either departing or returning from work every Wednesday.

"The selfie is accompanied by a location description, time and date of taking photos," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Personnel Agency (BKD), Chaidir, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 29.

The photo was then sent to the personnel admin through the specified media, according to the mechanisms in each regional apparatus.

In its implementation, every regional staffing admin and Regional Apparatus Work Units (UKPD) must recapitulate and verify photos according to employee data, minus employees who receive discretion according to the provisions.

The report was then sent to the head of the regional apparatus for verification. Then it was submitted to the Governor of DKI Jakarta through the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, with a copy to the Head of the DKI Jakarta BKD.

Chaidir said the head of regional apparatus was responsible for ensuring that his employees obeyed the rules.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) starting April 30, 2025 requires all employees to use mass public transportation when leaving for work, on duty, or after work every Wednesday.

This rule is contained in the Instruction of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 6 of 2025 which was signed by the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, on April 23, 2025.

The purpose of the existence of this Ingub is to provide a clear example to the community in supporting policies to reduce pollution and sustainable development and to realize governance that cares about the environment and supports green mobility.

"It is hoped that this policy can cultivate the use of public transportation among DKI Provincial Government employees, so that it can reduce congestion and improve Jakarta's air quality," said Chaidir.

Various modes of public transportation that can be used, namely Transjakarta, Integrated Moda Raya/Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta, Integrated Highways/Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Jakarta and Jabodebek LRT.

In addition, the Jabodetabek KRL (Commuter Line), Airport Train (Railink), regular buses/angkot as well as ships and transportation between employees/employees.

The rules for using public transportation are excluded for employees who are sick, pregnant or on duty as field officers with certain mobility.
