Find 87 Bullets When Unloading Chicken Cages, Parigi Moutong Residents Leave It To The Police

The Madago Raya Operations Task Force (Satgas) of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda) secured as many as 87 rounds of ammunition which were handed over by a resident of Dolago Padang Village, South Parigi District, Parigi Moutong Regency.

"The head of Hamlet IV reported that a resident found a plastic bag filled with bullets when he dismantled a former chicken coop behind his house," said Head of the Public Relations Sub-Sector of Task Force IV Banops Madago Raya Polda Central Sulawesi AKP Basirun Laele in a statement in Palu, Tuesday.

He explained that the discovery of ammunition began on Friday (25/4) when the Dai Polri team of the Madago Raya Operations Task Force held Friday prayers at the Nurul Amin Mosque, Dusun IV Uemea and conveyed the kamtibmas messages to the congregation.

After that, he said, the Head of Hamlet IV reported that a resident found a plastic bag filled with bullets when he dismantled a former chicken coop behind his house.

Then the Madago Raya Operations Task Force together with the Head of Hamlet IV and Bhabinkamtibmas, Dolago Padang Village, immediately headed to the location and secured the findings.

He explained that the items received consisted of various types of ammunition, including 71 sharp 5.56 millimeter caliber bullets, four 5.56 mm caliber rubber bullets, six revolver bullets, three AK-47 bullets, three FN bullets, and one stand mention type bullet.

"Residents who found the ammunition handed it over voluntarily after understanding the importance of supporting environmental security," he said.

Therefore, his party expressed his appreciation for the public's awareness of handing over ammunition findings to the security forces.

Operation Madago Raya is a regional operation in the context of maintaining security aimed at eradicating the remains of a network of armed groups in the Central Sulawesi region and creating a safe and conducive situation for the community.

According to him, this shows the success of a persuasive approach made through the Dai Polri program.

"The police will continue to intensify dialogueal patrols and appeals from the security and social order, especially in the area of operation to prevent the possibility of misuse of illegal weapons and ammunition," he said.

He also invited the entire community to continue to actively participate in maintaining security, and for people who find or still store weapons, ammunition, or explosives, to hand them over to the authorities.

AKP Basirun emphasized that this step is an important part in supporting the Madago Raya Operation which aims to maintain security stability, especially in the Central Sulawesi region.
