Two Perpetrators Of Online Taxi Driver Murder In Tangerang Ask For Assistance In Vehicle Message Security

TANGERANG Police revealed the mode of crime committed by two perpetrators with the initials IT alias Jefri and NH in the case of the murder of an online taxi driver with the initials MR (35) in Tangerang, namely by utilizing security to order online taxis. This method is used so that the perpetrator cannot be tracked digitally.

Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol Zain Dwi Nugroho explained that the perpetrators deliberately did not order an online taxi service directly. Instead, they went to a security guard at the Tangerang Regency Hospital to ask for help in ordering vehicles.

"This mode is done so that their identity traces are not recorded in the online taxi application system," said Zain in his statement, Thursday, April 25.

After successfully getting into an online taxi, the two perpetrators launched their actions right in the Teluknaga area, Tangerang Regency. The two perpetrators shared the role: one perpetrator strangled the victim's neck using a mine, while another perpetrator stabbed the victim with a knife four times.

"It has not yet reached the destination according to the application, the victim was killed in the middle of the trip," said Zain.

After killing the victim, MR's body was dumped into the New River in the Tanjung Burung Village area, Teluknaga, Tangerang. Meanwhile, the victim's car was cleared of traces of crime and the plan was to be sold by the perpetrators.

However, the perpetrator's attempt failed when the car was about to be sold to a police officer who disguised himself as a buyer. When checking the car, officers found bloodstains and used online taxi stickers, which raised suspicions until the perpetrator was finally arrested.

"The knife, the victim's wallet which was still covered in blood, as well as an online taxi sticker that was removed to eliminate traces, we have found everything," said Zain.

Until now, the search for the bodies of the victims is still being carried out by a joint team from the Tangerang Metro Police, BPBD, and Basarnas around the river where the bodies were allegedly dumped.

The police chief also appealed to the public to be more vigilant, especially when conducting direct motor vehicle buying and selling transactions. He emphasized that if there is anything suspicious, the public must immediately coordinate with the security forces.
