JAKARTA - International health humanitarian organization Mredecins Sans Frontières (MSF) or Doctors Without Borders warned tens of thousands of displaced people in the northern West Bank do not have proper shelter, essential services and access to health services.
After the January 2025 ceasefire in Gaza, Israel launched a military operation "The Iron Block" in the occupied West Bank, forcibly displacing thousands of people and leaving them in a very precarious situation, it said in a statement.
"Israel must immediately stop the forced eviction of Palestinians in the West Bank and the humanitarian response must be increased and reach those in need," the agency said.
"The scale of the forced eviction and destruction of these camps has not been seen for decades. People cannot return to their homes because Israeli forces have blocked access to camps, destroyed houses and infrastructure. The camps have become rubble and dust. Israel must stop it, and humanitarian responses need to be improved," said MSF Operations Director Brice de la Vingne.
Since the war in Gaza erupted in October 2023, Israeli forces have stepped up the use of extreme physical violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, as MSF highlighted in its report "Incurring losses and refusing treatment".
Access to health services has been severely hampered as confirmed by the MSF team in the field who have witnessed a systematic pattern of repression by Israel against health workers and patients.

The situation has worsened since the ceasefire in Gaza and Israel's "Bey Block" operation which has effectively vacated three major refugee camps of Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams in the northern West Bank which have forcibly displaced more than 40,000 Palestinians according to the OCHA.
"MSF continues to respond to urgent needs, but the increasing scale of evacuations and humanitarian crises amid inadequate international responses present major challenges and the need in the West Bank is getting worse," the agency said.
