The North Kalimantan (Kaltara) Transportation Service (Dishub) conducted a ramp check or inspection of the feasibility of public transportation vehicles at Perum Damri Terminal.

Head of Traffic and Road Transportation Division of the Kaltara Transportation Service, Desi Witasari, said this inspection was to prevent accidents due to vehicles that were not suitable for roads.

In addition, the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Kaltara also wants to ensure that Eid travelers run safely and comfortably.

"The team checks the physical condition of the vehicle, such as the function of operational supporting equipment, complete administrative documents. Then the steering system, lighting, wheel function, lighting, emergency response facilities, and other equipment related to passenger safety," said Desi, Thursday, March 13.

We also want to ensure that public transport vehicles used for homecoming are in prime condition. If vehicles are found that do not meet the requirements, we will postpone their operations until repairs are carried out. We also urge drivers to always maintain physical condition so that the trip remains safe and comfortable for passengers," he explained.

Driver health condition is also a major concern. Raharja services also provide free health check services for drivers and public transport crews.

"Urine tests were also carried out on 12 drivers to ensure they were in top condition while on duty," he said.

The ramp check was carried out on seven Damri bus units, followed by four additional units the following day.

"Vehicles that pass the test will be affixed with a 'Test Smooth' sticker bearing the North Kalimantan Provincial Transportation Service logo as a sign of operational feasibility," he said.
