Minister Of Transportation Seals 29 Illegal Buildings In The Hulu DAS Bekasi Area

JAKARTA - Minister of Forestry (Menhut) Raja Juli Antoni said his party had sealed 29 illegal buildings in the upstream area of the Bekasi Watershed (DAS), West Java.

Quoted from an official statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, the Minister of Transportation said the manager would be summoned for data collection.

"For forest areas in Bogor, we have made announcement boards for 29 units of villas or tourist parks that are most likely to violate the law by carrying out activities without permission in forest areas," said Minister of Forestry Raja Antoni as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 12.

"The mechanism will be that the places where the seal has been installed will be summoned, for data collection, document collection, legally what in the end there will still be law enforcement according to Forestry regulations," he said.

The Minister of Forestry said that later if the 29 buildings that had been sealed were proven to have violated, his party would impose sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations, such as dismantling and fines.

"If later it comes to the conclusion that those 29 of them violated, of course there would be various types of sanctions, such as dismantling, fines," said the Minister of Forestry.

He mentioned several illegal buildings in this forest area including villas, tourist attractions, and houses.

The Minister of Transportation emphasized to his staff that the control should be carried out not only because of the momentum, but will continue to be followed up seriously.

"This is what is in forest areas, which in forest areas we identified there are 29 we installed signs, which indicates to the community that we are present," said the Minister of Forestry.

"We remind the ranks not to be 'hot and hot, chicken Tai', there is another disaster, everyone talks about disasters, then there is control, a week or two people have forgotten to be accepted again. We must be present to protect nature, so that this natural disaster does not happen again," he added.
