Makassar Disdik Fire Case Rises To Investigation

Makassar Police Chief, South Sulawesi, Kombes Arya Perdana stated that the fire case of the Makassar City Education Office in Panakukang, South Sulawesi, which occurred on Saturday (11/1), had been raised from investigation to investigation.

"It has increased to fingerprint. There is information from the laboratory regarding the fire there, and the witnesses have 12 been examined. But there are no new witnesses yet," he said after the release of the criminal case at the Makassar Police Headquarters, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 12.

The police chief said the status was raised to investigation after there were instructions from the South Sulawesi Police forensic laboratory (labfor), the discovery of two pieces of evidence and statements from witnesses.

"So that it will be easier to carry out investigations, summons to anyone. We have no plans to summon anyone, but from these 12 people (witnesses) we will investigate later, from the results of the laboratory we will also investigate. We will convey the progress later," he said.

Previously, the Acting Head of the Makassar City Education Office, A Evidence Djufri said that from information from the police 12 people had been investigated regarding the fire, including security unit officers, Head of Subdivision of Finance and Acting Secretary of the Makassar Education Office.

"The information is like that, it has gone up to the level of investigation. The examination is carried out in stages, the total is 12 people. (Regarding the alleged burning) Wallahualam, we don't know whether it is burned or not. But we'll just wait for the results of the police investigation," said Djufrie.

Previously, the fire accident occurred on Saturday (11/1) in the early hours of the morning. The fire is thought to have originated from the next financial room with the fire getting bigger quickly because a lot of flammable goods.

A number of fire brigades (damkar) were deployed to extinguish the fire, but the entire building was burned down.
