East Java Police Arrest 3 Bojonegoro Residents For Senpi Production For KKB

The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the East Java Regional Police arrested three residents of Bojonegoro who produced firearms (senpi) for the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Puncak Jaya, Papua.

East Java Police Chief Komjen Imam Sugianto said the arrest of three suspects was the result of the development of the arrests made by the Papuan Police.

"From the results of the development of cases in Papua, it is known that the arms supplier comes from Bojonegoro, East Java," said Komjen Imam Sugianto as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 11.

The three suspects are TR, who acts as a supplier and distributor of weapons and ammunition, MK as an assembly machine operator, and PJ as a firearm maker.

In this case, in addition to a total of seven suspects were arrested by the East Java Regional Police, the Papua Regional Police, and the Yogyakarta Special Region Police (DIY).

Two of them are former members of the TNI Kodam 18 Kasuari, with the initials YE and ES, who were secured by the Papua and West Papua Police.

"From the arrests of the two suspects, it is known that the weapons were assembled in Bojonegoro," said Imam

Meanwhile, the seventh suspect, AP, acts as a store of weapons and ammunition in Minggi District, Sleman Regency, DIY.

Papua Police Chief Inspector General Petrus Patrige Rudolf Renwarin explained that the evidence that was secured included 982 rounds of ammunition of various caliber and five firearms.

"The ammunition that was secured consisted of 42 5.56 mm caliber, 198 5.6 mm caliber, 152 30 caliber pills, 197 7.62 mm caliber, and 14 9 mm caliber pills," said Inspector General Petrus Patrige Rudolf Renwarin.

The five firearms seized consisted of two Fajar homemade weapons and three short-barreled firearms.

The Papua Police Chief emphasized that until now there was no involvement of members of the TNI/Polri in this case. However, his party emphasized that strict action would be given if any person was proven to be involved.

"If there are members of the TNI who are involved in buying and selling firearms to armed criminal groups, they must be punished with firm action, because they are aware that the weapon will be used to attack their colleagues in conflict areas," he said.

Previously, the police raided a house in Kalianyar Housing, Kalianyar Village, Kapas District, Bojonegoro Regency, which was suspected of being a place for assembling firearms without permission.

The raid was carried out by joint personnel from the East Java Regional Police and the National Police Headquarters Task Force on Saturday (8/3) day to night.

During the operation, the police found a woman who is the wife of a resident of the house and two men who were suspected of being workers at the assembly workshop.

The police also confiscated a number of speeding machines used in the assembly of firearms. Some of these machines were transported using towing cars and pickups covered with tarpaulins.
