Minister Of Home Affairs Make Sure There Are No Simultaneous Inaugurations For Elected Regional Heads In PSU

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian ensured that there would be no simultaneous inauguration for elected regional heads as a result of the 2024 Pilkada re-voting (PSU).

Later, said Tito, the elected regional head will be immediately appointed by the governor. Meanwhile, the elected governor, was only inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto.

The Minister of Home Affairs initially said that 24 PSU and 2 re-Pilkada would still use ABPD, unless the regions were unable even though they had made efficiency. So it needs to be helped by the state budget.

"The important point is that there are 24 re-voting regions, the other two have re-cash elections. Namely Bangka district with the root city of the betel nut. If we are calculating the costs. There is still time. Because in August there will be a re-cash. But in principle, we will continue to use APBD funds first. We will make efficiency, reallocation. Then when the province has given up, then support, hand over, then the APBN," said Tito at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, March 10.

Tito revealed that so far there have been 15 regions that are ready to implement the PSU. Two regions, namely Bangka Belitung and Papua Mountains, have been submitted to the State Secretariat for the issuance of a presidential decree for governors.

"The 13 more will soon be issued by the Minister of Home Affairs Decree," said Tito.

Tito explained that the inauguration of the two elected governors would be carried out directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. Meanwhile, the elected regents and mayors will be carried out by the governors in their respective regions.

"Well, the inauguration of the President wants those who have finished work as soon as possible. Therefore, if the Presidential Decree has been issued, then of course you will adjust it to the time of the President. For the two governors, Babel and Papua, the mountains were sworn in by the President," explained Tito.

"And the remaining 13 were inaugurated by the vice-city regent. Inaugurated by their respective governors. So there was no simultaneous inauguration at the palace like yesterday," he concluded.
