JAMBI - Police arrested the last perpetrator on the wanted list (DPO) for the murder of a travel driver from Tanjung Jabung (Tanjab) Barat, Jambi. Previously, the police had arrested two other perpetrators.

Dirreskrimum Polda Jambi Kombes Pol Manang Soebeti said the DPO perpetrator had to be shot by the authorities for resisting when he was arrested.

"The perpetrator was arrested in Tebo Regency," said Manang in Jambi, Monday, March 10, as reported by Antara.

Currently, a total of three suspects involved have been arrested, namely Heri Susanto, Alexander Tasman and finally a DPO named Ali Ikhsan.

Ali Ikhsan was arrested on March 8, 2025, after a few days earlier the police arrested Alexander Tasman. Meanwhile, the perpetrator Heri was arrested shortly after the murder.

The three perpetrators committed car theft and killed the victim named Matnur on September 9, 2024.

The victim's body was then dumped in Bayung Lencir, Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra.

According to the results of the investigation, the victim was a travel driver who took three suspects from Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency to Jambi City on September 9, 2024.

The three suspects initially took a travel car driven by the victim from Kuala Tungkal to Jambi City. In the middle of the trip, they asked the victim to take him to the Kota Baru area, Jambi City.

However, when he arrived at a quiet location, the suspect Alexander Tasman immediately grabbed the victim's neck with a rope as well as Ali Ikhsan who also pulled the rope.

The victim was known to have rebelled, but the suspect Heri wrapped black duct tape into the eyes and head of the victim so that the victim was no longer alive.

After confirming the death toll, the three suspects continued their journey to South Sumatra by using the victim's car.

The perpetrators had stopped at Bayung Lencir to dispose of the victim's body.

Even though they have arrested the three perpetrators, the police are still looking for the victim's car left by the perpetrator on the toll road in the Lampung area.

"The evidence of the stolen vehicle has not been found, we urge the public to see the vehicle in question to report it to the police," he said.

Manang explained that the victim's car would initially be sold by the three perpetrators. However, on the way this car turned off, the perpetrator just left the vehicle on the road.
