A Group Of Teenagers Reported Sarong War On The Train Line, KAI Divre IV Remembers Dangers And Crimes

BANDARLAMPUNG PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Divre IV Tanjungkarang reminded the public not to carry out activities around the railway line because of the high risk of safety.

KAI Public Relations Manager Divre IV Tanjungkarang, Azhar Zaki Assjari, expressed his concern about the actions of a group of teenagers involved in the sarong war and playing firecrackers around the railway line.

"We deeply regret this incident, because this activity greatly endangers the safety of themselves and also train users," said Azhar, quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, March 10.

Zaki emphasized that all forms of activity along the railway line, apart from operational interests, are not only dangerous but also violates statutory regulations.

According to Article 199 of Law Number 23 of 2007 concerning Railways, anyone who is on the train line without a permit or uses this route for other purposes can be sentenced to up to three months in prison or fined up to IDR 15 million.

In addition, this violation can also be subject to Article 167 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code, which regulates the threat of imprisonment for a maximum of nine months or a fine of IDR 4.5 million.

"We hope that the public understands that playing or doing activities on the train line is not only a risk of fatal accidents, but can also lead to legal sanctions," he added.

KAI also invites the public to participate in maintaining safety by giving warnings or warnings to anyone who plays or is active on the railway line.

"We urge the entire community to play a role in maintaining mutual safety. Do not let negligence or ignorance cause accidents that can take lives," Zaki concluded.
