DENPASAR - I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali confirmed the temporary closure of the runway or runway whose videos were circulating on social media.

General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, in Denpasar, Saturday, explained that the closure of approximately two hours was due to landing problems by Airfast aircraft.

It is known that the Airfast aircraft with registration number DH PK OAM 6 from Benete, West Sumbawa, experienced technical problems when landing in Bali at 09.26 WITA, thankfully seven passengers on the small plane were not seriously injured and immediately evacuated.

"As a result of these obstacles, the plane was on the runway, so for safety and flight operational security reasons, the runway could not be accommodated and used for takeoff," said Ahmad Syaugi.

Based on NOTAM Number A0668/25 NOTAMN, the runway is temporarily closed from 10.15 WITA to 12.10 WITA.

Ahmad Syaugi explained that this closure was used to evacuate passengers and planes to the apron, as well as check and ensure that no foreign objects were left on the runway because this incident could potentially endanger flight safety.

I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport noted, for this incident there were 10 departure flights affected by delaying departures or delays consisting of five domestic and five international flights.

For arrivals, 21 flight arrivals were affected, consisting of nine domestic flights and 12 international flights.

There are six diverts or diversions to several alternative airports such as Lombok, five Surabaya, three Makassar, two Semarang, one Jakarta, and one Banyuwangi.

"There are three arrival flights that return to the airport of origin or Return To Base (RTB), namely at Lombok, Jakarta and Singapore airports," said Syaugi.
