Members Of The Kaimana Police, West Papua, Rape 2 Children Dismissed Disrespectfully

JAKARTA - A member of the Kaimana Resort Police (Polres), West Papua with the initials MEP was dishonorably dismissed after being proven to have committed a violation of ethics and administrative matters.

Head of the Professional and Security Section (Propam) of the Kaimana Police, IPDA Ronny Sabandar, said MEP was involved in cases of neglect of family, persecution, and adultery.

The application of ethical and administrative sanctions to MEP refers to the decision letter of the National Police Professional Code of Ethics Commission Number PUT/KKEP/01/III/2025/Propam dated March 3, 2025.

"The MEP was declared a disgraceful act, and was dishonorably dismissed," said Ronny in Kaimana, Wednesday, March 5, quoted by Antara.

According to him, the code of ethics trial against MEP was held after the Kaimana Police received legal advice from the West Papua Regional Police (Polda) legal guidance department.

In accordance with the provisions of the legislation, the MEP is given the right and space to appeal the decision of the Police Professional Code of Ethics Commission.

"We are still securing the person concerned for the next 30 days. He (MEP) has the right to file an appeal," said Ronny.

In addition, he said, the Kaimana Police Propam is still waiting for the opinions and legal suggestions of the West Papua Police regarding the rape case of two minors carried out by MEP.

Investigators from the Kaimana Police Investigation and Criminal Unit (Reskrim) have now completed all the case files in question for the purpose of holding the trial.

"If in the near future (the opinion and legal advice) of the Regional Police have been sent, we will immediately hear it," said Ronny.

He said that the strict sanctions received by MEP were of concern to all members of the Kaimana Police so as not to commit acts of violation of the police code of ethics.

This will certainly harm the police institution in general and self-specially, because there needs to be awareness to comply with applicable regulations.

"If you really can't make achievements, at least don't make violations and this is a warning to all personnel," said Ronny.
