3 Hulu Sungai In Bogor Melawap: Beware Of Jakarta, Bekasi And Tangerang Floods

BOGOR - Three upstream rivers in Bogor, Ciliwung, Cisadane, and Cileungsi-Cikeas overflowed on Monday evening March 3. The water level (TMA) in the three rivers is reported to be in flood alert status in Jakarta, Tangerang, and Bekasi.

Based on a report from the Katulampa Dam Supervisory Post, Monday night, at 23.00 WIB. The Ciliwung River in Katulampa Dam is on standby 2 with a TMA of 170 centimeters (cm). Likewise at Panus Depok Water Gate is on standby 2 with a TMA of 280 cm. Meanwhile, Manggarai Water Gate is still in normal status with a TMA of 705 cm.

"The Ciliwung water overflow will arrive in Jakarta on Tuesday morning. For this reason, residents should be aware of flooding," said Head of the Katulampa Dam Supervisory, Andi Sudirman, Monday night.

The Katulampa Monitoring Post also reported that the Cisadane River TMA which empties in Banten that crosses Tangerang was also reported to have overflowed. At 23.00 WIB, TMA Ciliwung at the Empang Post, Bogor City, was on alert status 3 or TMA 110 cm.

Andi said that the high rainfall with a long duration from Monday afternoon until evening caused the upstream river in Bogor to overflow. The water level also increases when local rain occurs in several areas such as Bogor, Depok, and parts of Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the Cileungsi Cikeas River Care Community (KP2C) reported that the upstream of the Cikeas River which empties in Bekasi also experienced an increase in water level.

The chairman of KP2C Puarman said, at 23.00 WIB the Cileungsi River was on alert status 1 with a discharge of 400, as was TMA Cikeas on standby status of 3 220 cm, and the meeting of the Cileungsi and Cikeas floodgate P2C on Mount Putri was on standby status 3 with a TMA of 430 cm.

Puarman said the overflow of water would arrive in Bekasi on Tuesday morning. For this reason, residents on the banks of the Bekasi River should be aware of flooding.
