The Absence Of The KPK In Pretrial Hasto Is Expected Not To Be Considered

The PDI-P (PDIP) Secretary General's (Sekjen) camp, Hasto Kristiyanto, against the absence of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at today's trial was not a trick to file the case.

The pretrial hearing which asked the Hasto camp to be monitored was decided to be postponed until next week. One of the reasons is the absence of the respondent.

"We hope that this is not a trick so that the KPK can complete the case file and then they will hand over the case file," said Hasto's attorney, Maqdir Ismail at the South Jakarta District Court, Monday, March 3.

The KPK is highly expected to take part in the pretrial examination. Because, if the filing process carried out has been completed and transferred to the court, then, automatically invalidate the pretrial of the legality of the determination of the suspect in the case of alleged bribery in the interim replacement process (PAW) of members of the DPR, and the obstruction of the investigation.

"We hope that it will not be carried out by the KPK. We hope that the KPK will be heartened to complete the pretrial case first," said Maqdir.

Maqdir said that his party was relieved if the KPK submitted the file to the trial of corruption, if the pretrial was rejected. However, it is hoped that the legal action will not be taken before the lawsuit at the South Jakarta District Court is carried out.

"Then if the pretrial decision refuses our petition, then they are welcome to hand over the case file. After all, what we are testing is very important later on to have a main case," said Maqdir.

It is known, Hasti filed two pretrial lawsuits. First, case number 23/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL who tested whether or not the determination of the suspect Hasto was based on Sprindik Number Sprin.Dik/153/DIK.00/01/12/2024 regarding the alleged bribery. The trial will be tried by the Sole Judge Afrizal Hadi.

Meanwhile, the trial of the lawsuit with case number 24/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL will be handled by the Single Judge Rio Barten Pasaribu to examine whether or not the determination of the suspect Hasto is legal regarding the alleged obstruction of the investigation based on Sprindik Number Sprin.Dik/152/DIK/DIK.01/12/2024.
