Minister Of Religion Calls The Beginning Of Ramadan 1446 H Possibly Implemented Simultaneously

Minister of Religion (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar said the beginning of Ramadan 1446 Hijri has a high probability of being carried out simultaneously for all Muslims in Indonesia.

"Most likely (the beginning of Ramadan) can be the same," said the Minister of Religion at a press conference in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, February 28.

Nasaruddin, who is also the Grand Imam of the Istiqlal Mosque, explained the possibility of the beginning of Ramadan being carried out simultaneously, because currently the monitoring of the hilal is in the position of 2.5 to 4 degrees.

This is in accordance with the method of reckoning carried out by Muhammadiyah, where previously Muhammadiyah had determined that 1 Ramadan 1446 Hijri falls on March 1, 2025.

"God willing, Eid al-Fitr is also expected to be the same, because at the estimated time it is still zero, minus yes (degree of hilal)," he said.

Nasaruddin considered this to be a good start for Muslims in Indonesia. "Thus, friends from Muhammadiyah and NU can agree there. Now this is a good start, hopefully God willing, our Ramadan will run smoothly," he said.

This, according to the Minister of Religion, will make the religious life of the Indonesian people more harmonious and peaceful.

He hopes that this year's momentum of Ramadan can add even more blessings to all Indonesian people.

"God willing, this is the most plural country in the world, but also the most homogeneous, the most harmonious in the world. So this country is full of blessings," said Nasaruddin Umar.
