Wawalkot Asks DSDABM To Check River Detention Walls Throughout Bandung To Prevent Abrasion

Deputy Mayor (Wawalkot) Bandung, Erwin asked the Water Resources and Highways Agency (DSDABM) to comb and inspect themir (retaining wall) in all rivers in Bandung City to anticipate the collapse of themir.

This was conveyed by Erwin while reviewing the location of the landslide on Jalan H. Basuki III, Binong Village, Batununggal District which occurred due to the collapse of the kimir on the banks of the Cikapundung Kolot River which had previously suffered cracks.

"It's the rainy season, and we have to make sure there are no other landslide-prone points," Erwin said in a statement received in Bandung, Thursday, February 27, which was confiscated by Antara.

Erwin said according to a report from the Bandung City Fire and Disaster Management Service (Diskar PB), the landslide occurred on Wednesday, February 26 at around 13.00 WIB.

He confirmed that there were no casualties as a result of the incident. However, this hinders the road access of residents in RT 04 RW 10.

"That this kirmir repair cannot be done self-managed and must involve a third party. The preparation process takes about two to three days, and God willing, the work can be completed within one month," he said.

In addition to asking for a thorough check of theirir, Erwin also appealed to residents to be more careful and avoid activities around the river, especially when it rains.

I still see a lot of people fishing or sitting on the riverbanks when it rains. Please avoid it for mutual safety," he said.

Furthermore, he said residents could report emergency incidents, such as landslides, fallen trees, or lights out, through the DSDABM hotline, Transportation Agency, and DPKP so that they could be followed up immediately.

"God willing, the Mayor and I, Farhan, will continue to be present to provide benefits for the people of Bandung City," said Erwin.
