Attended By National Figures, The VII Congress Of The UKI Alumni Association Successfully Held

JAKARTA - A number of national figures were seen at the peak of the VII Congress event of the Indonesian Christian University Alumni Association (IKA UKI) which was held at the GWS Hall of the UKI Cawang Campus, East Jakarta, Saturday, February 22, 2025.

The VII IKA UKI Congress with the theme "Being Bright and Salt for the Nation and the State" with the Subtema "Reappointing the Thoughts of the Founders of the Indonesian Christian University" carries the main agenda of the selection of the IKA UKI General Chairperson (Ketum) for the period 2025-2030 which was attended by all representatives of the UKI faculty and graduate alumni association.

The event started with presentations and remarks from a number of national figures. Appearing as a keynote speaker is Member of the DPD RI Agustin Teras Narang, who is also an alumni of the Faculty of Law of UKI.

In his presentation, Agustin explained the dynamics of the current development of Indonesian state law, which is marked by the increasing number of state institutions.

For this reason, Teras Narang, who has served as Governor of Central Kalimantan for two periods, invites all UKI academic community to participate in overseeing legal developments in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of IKA UKI 2020-2025, Ir Maruli Gultom, who submitted the accountability report, really hopes that IKA UKI will be more solid and strong. "Many UKI alumni are great, invite them to consolidate to build tighter strengths," said Maruli Gultom, who is known as an alumni elder.

Another speaker is the Chairman of the UKI Foundation, Edward Sirait, who invited all UKI alumni to be more confident. "When I met the President of the US Barack Obama, I only introduced myself as an alumni of UKI," said Edward, who was known to have served as President Director of Lion Air Group for a long time.

Meanwhile, the Chancellor of UKI, Dhaniswara Hardjono, who is also an alumni of the Faculty of Law, UKI, emphasized that the current UKI has undergone very significant changes in all fields. In fact, UKI is currently able to reach the 64th position of the Best Campus in Indonesia.

Esra Siregar Elected By The Chairman Of IKA UKI

The main agenda of the IKA UKI VII Congress is the election of the Chairman of IKA UKI for the period 2025-2030. After a long and exciting discussion, all congress participants finally agreed on a voting mechanism to determine who the Chairman of IKA UKI is.

Of the three candidates who advanced, namely Esra Siregar, Domma Sinaga, and Armunanto H, Esra Siregar was finally elected after pocketing the most votes.

After being appointed as the elected Ketum, Esra, who is a class of 1994 from the Faculty of Economics and Business, promised to cooperate with all alumni to work together to build alumni strength.

"This is our common victory, let's join hands for the progress of alumni and UKI. VIVA UKI," said Esra Siregar when delivering his inaugural speech as Chairman of IKA UKI.

Furthermore, as Chairman of IKA UKI, Esra will determine the leadership formatur of IKA UKI for the period 2025-2030.
