Allegedly Hit And Run Victim, Police Member Dies While Riding Yamaha Xeon Near Cengkareng Gas Station

JAKARTA - A member of the National Police with the initials DI (45) was found dead on Jalan Auto Ring Road Cengkareng towards the South, near gas station 3411703 Cengkareng, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta. The incident occurred on Tuesday night, February 18.

The victim is a Yamaha Xeon motorcyclist with the number B 3977 BTU with the initials DI. DI is listed as a resident of Bambu Larangan, Kalideres District, West Jakarta. The victim's body was then evacuated to the Tangerang District Hospital.

Head of West Jakarta Metro Police Laka, AKP Joko, said the incident began when the Yamaha Xeon motorbike driven by the DI victim drove on Jalan Auto Ring Road Cengkareng.

"The victim's motorbike was hit by a vehicle whose registration number is not yet known. A motorcyclist named Dedi Iskandar died at the crime scene," said AKP Joko when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, February 20.

Allegedly, the perpetrator of the crash drove in the same direction from the right side of the victim's motorbike. This resulted in the motorcycle driven by DI falling and dying.

"The body was evacuated to the Tangerang District Hospital for the body's Visum Et Repertum (VER)," he said.

Currently, the case is still under investigation by the Laka Unit of the West Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit.

"Vehicles and drivers are not yet known, they are still investigating," he said.

Meanwhile, the evidence that was secured on the Yamaha Xeon motorbike along with the STNK with number B 3976 BTU.

"We have processed the crime scene and secured evidence and looked for witness statements. Police reports have also been made. We are still investigating this case," he said.
