KPK Reveals Last Week Mbak Ita Will Fulfill Calls But Turns Back To Semarang Because It Is Sick

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu or Mbak Ita and her husband, Alwin Basri who is also the Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Provincial DPRD will actually fulfill the investigator's summons on Tuesday, February 11.

However, the Mayor of Semarang was not present because he suddenly got sick.

This was conveyed by the Director of Investigation of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu at the detention conference of Mbak Ita and Alwin Basri today, Wednesday, February 19.

"A week ago, Mbak Ita and Alwin Basri were summoned to the KPK building. However, when they traveled and arrived in the West Java area, Mbak Ita suddenly got sick. Then, Mbak Ita and Alwin Basri returned to Semarang and went straight to the hospital for health checks," said Asep at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

The KPK then received confirmation from Mbak Ita and her husband, continued Asep. Thus, investigators provide an opportunity to seek treatment because they have been checked in the field.

"So we, after the team came to Semarang, went to the doctor, and we called the person concerned again today and thank God the person concerned was present," he said.

Meanwhile, Mbak Ita and her husband have been absent four times from the KPK's summons. The details are December 10, 2024, 17 and January 22, 2025, and February 11, 2025.

Previously reported, the KPK detained the Mayor of Semarang Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu or Mbak Ita and her husband, Alwin Basri who is also the Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Provincial DPRD. This pair is suspected of being entangled in three corruption cases and receiving billions of rupiah.

"Since HGR served as Mayor of Semarang, HGR and AB have received a sum of money from the fee for the procurement of an SD fabrication seat at the Semarang City Education Office for FY 2023, the arrangement of direct appointment projects at the TA 2023 sub-district level and requests for money to the Semarang City Bapenda," said Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Ibnu Basuki Widodo at a press conference for detention at the KPK Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, February 20.

In the first case, continued Ibnu, Mbak Ita and Alwin were suspected of being involved in the alleged corruption in the project for the procurement of an elementary school seat at the Semarang city education office. The pair allegedly pocketed Rp1.7 billion in cash.

"That for the involvement of AB to help RUD (Director of PT Deka Sari Perkasa) get the project, RUD has prepared Rp1,750,000,000 or 10 percent for AB," he said.

Meanwhile, in the second case, Mbak Ita and her husband were suspected of being involved in the arrangement of a direct appointment project at the sub-district level. Arwin was then suspected of receiving Rp2 billion in cash.

"That in around December 2022, M handed over Rp2 billion in money to AB as a commitment fee for the District PL project," explained Ibnu.

Finally, Mbak Ita and Alwin pocketed Rp2.4 billion from the request for money from the Semarang City Bapenda. So, if the total of this married couple gets Rp6 billion through the three fraudulent practices carried out.

In this case, the KPK actually named two other suspects. They are Martono who is the Chairman of the Association of Indonesian National Construction Implementers (Gappensi) of Semarang City and Rachmat Djangkar as the private party who had already been detained.
