JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto assured the judges that he would improve their quality of life considering the heavy workload. Until now there are judges who do not have official residences and are still living in boarding houses.

Prabowo expressed his determination when giving a speech at the 2024 Supreme Court Annual Report Special Session at the Hall of the Indonesian Supreme Court Building, Jakarta, today.

"I am determined to cooperate with the legislature, we will discuss how we must improve the quality of life of all judges," said President Prabowo.

Apart from that, President Prabowo admitted that his determination often received different assessments from several experts.

On the same occasion, the President emphasized that no more judges should live in boarding houses.

Prabowo attended the 2024 Annual Special Session of the Indonesian Supreme Court in Jakarta, Wednesday, accompanied by a number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Attorney General ST Burhanuddin.

The President, at the event, also thanked the judges who were considered to have a heavy workload.

"The judge must handle, consider, study, and decide hundreds of cases. Per judge hundreds of cases, millions of cases that you handle," the President told the judges who attended the MA Annual Report today.

The President said the people had many hopes for the judges.

"The burden of you is very heavy, because every one of our people depends on your decisions. Our people hope for justice. Our people, especially the weakest, the poorest, and the least helpless, the last place they seek justice is to the judges," continued Prabowo.

The Special Plenary Session of the Annual Report of the Supreme Court is a routine agenda held by the Supreme Court. This activity is a form of accountability for the performance of the Supreme Court over the past year to the public.
