Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf alias Mualem stated that a consortium of investors from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is interested in investing in several economic sectors in rencong land.

"Alhamdulillah, I just had a conversation with Prof. Abdul Karim. He expressed his interest in a consortium from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to invest in several sectors in Aceh," said Muzakir Manaf in a statement received in Banda Aceh, Antara, Sunday, February 16.

He conveyed this after meeting with a consortium of investors from the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Bin Abdul Aziz Asishri, in Subulussalam City, Aceh.

Mualem said the consortium was interested in establishing a crude palm oil (CPO) processing plant and establishing a cooking oil factory in Aceh.

"They are also interested in investing in electrical energy and mineral mining in Aceh," he said.

Mualem added that Prof. Abdul Karim, who is also the envoy of the Grand Mosque and Professor at the University of Ummul Qura Mecca, Saudi Arabia, also invited Acehnese sons and daughters to attend education there.

He emphasized that he really welcomes the interest of the consortium because it is also closely related to its vision, namely Aceh Islami, advanced, dignified and sustainable, and a mission to carry out economic independence with the basis of Aceh's leading sector.

Aceh, he continued, is very open to investors from anywhere, because with a large amount of investment, the field is increasingly open. And of course it has a positive impact on Aceh's efforts to reduce unemployment and alleviate poverty.

In addition, the investment effect can also open up new business opportunities that have an impact on Aceh's economic growth.

"We welcome and will review and coordinate with relevant policy makers. I also offered cooperation in the health sector, because this will also be very beneficial for the people of Aceh," said Mualem.
