Hundreds Of Masses Of The Indonesian People's Movement Alliance Hold 'Black Action February Dark' In Front Of The DPR RI Building

JAKARTA Hundreds of people who are members of the Alliance of the Indonesian People's Movement stormed the DPR/MPR RI Building by bringing 4 demands, namely removing the immunity rights of the prosecutor, stopping concurrent positions at prosecutors, stopping the misuse of restorative justice (peace fines) and rejecting Azas airing. The demonstration with the theme "Black Action February Kelam" at the DPR RI Building, Central Jakarta on Thursday afternoon, February 13, brought the hashtag #The Prosecutor's Office to powerabsolut, #Modusjet with a recommendation and #AbuseofPowerThe Prosecutor's Office.

Several demonstrators also held a theatrical action describing the power of the prosecutor's office to regulate a case under the pretext of "Restorative Justice".

The crowd blocked Jalan Gatot Soebroto, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta at around 14.30 WIB. The crowd closed the road because their demands to meet with members of Commission III of the DPR RI were not fulfilled.

Long traffic jams were inevitable as far as 10 km towards Pancoran. The crowd blocked the barricades using demonstrators and burned used tires in the middle of Jalan Gatot Soebroto.

Coordinator of the demonstration, Fikri said, his party who are members of the Indonesian People's Movement wants to remind and convey demands to the DPR RI and the Indonesian Attorney General's Office.

"We want to stop related to law number 11 of 2021 article 8 paragraph 5, related to the prosecutor's immunity rights. We ask that the right to immunity for the prosecutor's office be abolished in the law," he told reporters at the location.

Furthermore, his party also demanded the misuse of restorative justice.

"We ask to be abolished as well," he said.

Fikri continued, his party also asked to stop or revise the rules for prosecutors to hold concurrent positions.

"The most important thing today is that we ask the DPR RI to abolish the Draft Criminal Code Bill and in it is the principle of factery Litis. The principle for this Listis is the principle of institutional strengthening of prosecutors," he said.

"So, we think this principle has a series of laws Article 11 of 2021 to protect the interests of the prosecutor's office and the elements in it," he added.

However, the road blockade did not last long. The joint police officers who were guarding managed to break down the crowd until finally the traffic flow returned to normal at around 15.00 WIB.

"We lowered the estimated three thousand masses from Jabodetabek and Banten. We lowered our alliance, the lower alliance in society, which was born with unrest, we finally garnered strength," he said.

Furthermore, at 15.30 WIB, the masses again closed Jalan Gatot Soebroto. But again, the road closure did not last long.

"Earlier there was a road closure because we had asked the police to get the DPR RI out. That's our expression, our action is serious," he said.

Meanwhile, the demonstration was under tight guard from thousands of joint personnel.

Head of Public Relations of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Ipda Ruslan, said the police had deployed thousands of joint personnel to guard the demonstration to be orderly and safe.

"The strong troops deployed were 1,156 personnel in front of the DPR Building," he briefly confirmed when confirmed by VOI.
