Traffic on Matraman Raya Road Returns to Normal after Truck Molen Stuck in Bridge Underpass

Arus lalu lintas di Jalan Matraman Raya, Jakarta Timur, telah kembali normal setelah proses evakuasi truk molen yang tersangkut di kolong jembatan perlintasan kereta api (KA) atau jembatan penyeberangan orang (JPO) pada Kamis 16 Juli dini hari.

The incident, which occurred at around 02.30 WIB, required the handling of officers before the vehicle was successfully evacuated at around 04.00 WIB.

Head of the East Jakarta Administration Transportation Office Harlem Simanjuntak said officers immediately moved to the location after receiving reports of a truck being stuck.

"Officers immediately moved to the location after receiving information, so that the evacuation process went quickly and was completed around 04.00 WIB. So that traffic flows back to normal," said Harlem in his statement, Thursday morning.

Harlem explained that officers arrived at the location at around 03.00 WIB. In addition to managing vehicle traffic and securing the location, officers also coordinated with the East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit to speed up the evacuation process.

According to him, the handling was carried out so that the vehicle could be immediately moved without disturbing the community's activities. Fortunately, the incident took place when the volume of vehicles was still relatively low so that the impact on traffic flow could be minimized.

"There were no casualties or disruptions to train travel," he said.

Based on the results of the examination at the location, the incident also did not cause damage to the structure of the railway crossing bridge.

The Transportation Office appeals to drivers, especially large and high-dimension vehicles, to always pay attention to height limit signs before crossing. Drivers are also asked to ensure that the dimensions of the vehicle are in accordance with the condition of the road section to prevent similar incidents and maintain the safety of all road users.
