Member Of Commission II Of The DPR Asks The Government To Be Honest In Conveying Information On The Progress Of IKN Development

JAKARTA - Member of Commission II of the House of Representatives Muhammad Khozin, encourages the construction project of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) to continue with the improvement of more consolidated public communication. According to him, the government must honestly convey information about the development or progress of IKN development.

As for the IKN development budget, there was a change from the Ministry of Public Works (Kemen PU) to the IKN Authority (OIKN).

"The transfer of the state capital from Jakarta to IKN is our political will as a nation and state. IKN is also in accordance with Asta Cita Presiden Prabowo number 14. Its choice will certainly be continued with improvements, especially in terms of public communication," said Khozin, Wednesday, February 12.

The PKB legislator from the East Java electoral district assessed that OIKN public communication must get serious attention because it is related to public trust and investors. According to him, public communication must be carried out objectively, transparently, and accountably.

"Remind a communication model whose basis is glorification," said Khozin.

Khozin said the government and OIKN must open up a measurable communication space to convey the progress of development openly and as it is.

"Convey information openly, honestly, and based on progress reports," said Khozin.

Khozin alluded to the IKN development budget. He said, there was a change from what was originally through the Ministry of Public Works (Kemen PU) shifted directly to OIKN. According to him, information about this matter must also be published properly.

"Information about budget blocking must also be occupied. What is right, the budget transfer from the original one through the Ministry of Public Works switches directly to OIKN," concluded Khozin.

As is known, the infrastructure development budget, which is below the scope of the Ministry of Public Works (PU), was hit by a massive budget cut, up to IDR 81 trillion.

It is feared that this cuts will have an impact on the development of strategic infrastructure projects, such as the capital city of Nusantara (IKN).

Responding to this, the Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, said that budget efficiency makes ministries/agencies (KL) have to prioritize their priority projects. According to Basuki, IKN is also included in it.

"There should be something allocated that, it's as a matter of priority, what's prioritized, right, food self-sufficiency, roads, IKN, because IKN is also Asta Cita, this depends," said Basuki, met after a Working Meeting (Raker) with Commission II of the DPR.

In addition, based on the information he received, the Ministry of Public Works will also get additional budgets. However, Basuki could not specify how much.

Thus, according to him, the Ministry of Public Works gets a larger budget space to be utilized in infrastructure development, including IKN.
