Bareskrim Says Citizens' ID Cards Are Used For Pagar Laut Deeds

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police said that the deed forgery action in the form of building rights certificates (SHGB) and title certificates (SHM) in the sea fence area was carried out by profiting the identity of residents.

This was discovered after investigators examined dozens of witnesses, including residents of Kohod Village, Tangerang Regency.

"From the results of the initial examination that we carried out on several residents, it was true that it was used," said the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Djuhandani Rahardjo Puro to reporters, Wednesday, February 12.

The identity profiting was carried out by asking residents' Identity Cards (KTP). However, the purpose and purpose of borrowing the identity submitted to residents is not appropriate.

"His name was taken by asking for an ID card, a photocopy of an ID card which was finally appeared in these letters," he said.

"These residents do not know and state that they do not own or control the land," continued Djuhandani.

Meanwhile, regarding the number of residents whose names were used, Djuhandani could not confirm it. However, referring to the testimony of the modus witness used to make the application letter by using the names of residents.

"We'll see. But what is clear is that there have been several statements. The statements from the witnesses we examined and they stated that they only borrowed their ID cards and did not know about the ownership," said Djuhandani.

Meanwhile, the progress of handling this case, investigators have examined 44 witnesses, including the Head of Kohod Village, Arsin. From the examination, it was found that there was a mode of deed forgery carried out by the reported party, Arsin, and several other parties who collaborated to make a fake deed to be used in the application for recognition of rights.

"Investigators also get a modus operandi where the reported party and friends use fake letters in requests for measurement and application for recognition of rights to the Tangerang Regency land office," said Djuhandani.
