KPAI: There Are 240 Reports Of Child Cases Of Physical And Psychological Hardness Victims During 2024

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) said there were 240 cases of children victims of physical and psychological violence during 2024.

From the KPAI report, the highest cases were children who were victims of abuse, beatings, fights, children who were victims of psychological violence, children who were victims of murder, and children who were victims of brawls.

In addition, KPAI also seriously monitors the case of the child who ended his life, the filiside is the child of the victim of murder by the parents or members of the closest family to the family or the murder of a family including the child, by the father.

According to the Deputy Chairperson of KPAI, Jasra Putra, the increase in psychological physical violence against children is influenced by several factors.

"For example, the culture of violence is still considered normal, weak supervision in the family environment, schools and the community, as well as the impact of online games or social media on children," said Jasra, Tuesday, February 11.

In addition, KPAI also received 41 cases of child victims of pornography and cyber crime (Cyber Crime).

"The most frequently reported cases are children who are victims of sexual crimes and bullying in cyberspace," he said.

Jasra said the main cause of this problem was the gap between the rapid development of technology and social media. Then the low level of digital literacy in children and parents.

"This results in weak supervision and increased abuse in the use of social media, which results in other crimes against children," he said.
