JAKARTA - The Palestinian group has criticized US President Donald Trump's plan to control the Gaza Strip and relocate its residents and consider it a "war statement" aimed at expelling Palestinians from their lands.

"Trump's recent statement shows the original face of the American-Zionist partnership in attacking our people," the National and Islamic Forces Follow-up Committee said as quoted by ANTARA from Anadolu, Tuesday, February 11.

The committee is an umbrella organization for most Palestinian groups who say Trump's plans are a "war statement".

The committee praised the swift action of Arab countries that will convene on February 27 to take practical and direct steps, which play an important role in countering Trump's crime plans.

The tough hearts of Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and inside Israel need political and material support directly to strengthen their resistance and build them on their land, the statement said.

On Sunday, Trump told reporters in Air Force One he was "committed to buy and own Gaza," and proposed that some of the enclaves be allocated to other Middle Eastern countries for reconstruction.

His statement was widely rejected by the international community, including all Arab countries and many European countries.
