BMKG: The Majority Of Indonesia's Territory Is Forecasted To Be Cloudy To Rain Today

JAKARTA The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) estimates that the weather in most parts of Indonesia will be cloudy to rainy on Tuesday, February 11.

In a weather forecast broadcast in Jakarta, BMKG Prakirawati Sentia Arianti said that the weather in Padang is predicted to be foggy, while Banda Aceh, Pekanbaru, and Tanjung Pinang will be thick cloudy. Light rain is predicted to occur in Pangkal Pinang, while rain accompanied by lightning has the potential to hit Medan.

"Still on the island of Sumatra, the weather is expected to be cloudy in the city of Palembang, and thick cloudy in Jambi, Bengkulu, and Bandar Lampung," said Sentia, quoted by ANTARA.

On the island of Java, light rain is predicted to flush Serang, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya.

In the areas of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, light rain is forecast in Denpasar, Mataram, and Kupang.

"On the island of Kalimantan, it is predicted to be thick cloudy in Pontianak, as well as light rain in Samarinda, Palangkaraya, and Banjarmasin. Beware of rain accompanied by lightning in Tanjung Selor City," he said.

For the Sulawesi region, thick clouds are expected to occur in Gorontalo and Palu, while Makassar has the potential to experience moderate rain. People in Manado, Mamuju, and Kendari are advised to be aware of rain accompanied by lightning.

"In eastern Indonesia, the weather is predicted to be cloudy in Ambon and Manokwari, as well as light rain in Nabire, Jayapura, Jayawijaya, and Merauke. Rain accompanied by lightning has the potential to occur in Ternate and Sorong," he explained.
