TB Ansanus Ship Overturned After Being Hit By Waves In Tanjung Priok Waters, One Crew Member Disappeared

JAKARTA - The TB Ansanus ship had an accident due to waves and high waves around the outfall waters of block 3 of the Tanjung Priok PLTGU, North Jakarta.

The ship was swayed until it finally capsized in the waters. Then, a crew member (ABK) named Sugeng Riyadi (63) was thrown and disappeared allegedly drowned.

After receiving the report, the joint SAR team again carried out an effort to search for one of Ansanus' crew members.

On Saturday, February 8, the search for victims was carried out by the joint SAR team by deploying rubber boats and RIB Jakarta around the scene.

"The search is up to a radius of 1.8 Nautica Miles," Head of Operations for the Jakarta SAR Office, Akhmad Rizkiansah, Sunday, February 9.

The use of aqua eye is also carried out to comb suspected objects under the surface of the water.

Thermal drones were also deployed to conduct a search from the air to map the search area for victims.

"We will maximize the search for victims by deploying the main equipment and personnel from the joint SAR team with the hope that we can find victims soon," he said.

Meanwhile, dozens of joint SAR personnel who were deployed in the search for victims consisted of the Jakarta SAR Office, Tanjung Priok PLTUG, Polairud Polda Metro Jaya, KSOP Tg. Priok, Ship Agent TB Ansanus, BPBD North Jakarta and others.

"The search for the joint SAR team today is constrained by strong winds and waves that are quite high between one and two meters," he said.

Until this information was conveyed this afternoon, the joint SAR team was still making efforts to search for victims.
