Minister Of Culture Fadli Zon Inaugurates The Century Exhibition Pramoedya Ananta Toer

BLORA In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Pramoedya Ananta Toer, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon opened the Blora Sebad Pramoedya Ananta Toer Festival on Thursday, February 6, 2025. This event presents a series of activities such as cultural dialogue, screening of the film Bumi Manusia, concerts, monologies, to performing arts at the Blora Regent's Hall. Fadli Zon was accompanied by the Regent of Blora, Arief Rohman.

The highlight of the event is the inauguration of Pramoedya Ananta Toer's statue and sketch at Blora Art Space. This exhibition features modern artwork that describes Pramoedya's life journey and contribution to literature and humanity. Pram is not only a writer, but also a reflection of the journey of the Indonesian nation which is full of twists and turns," said Fadli Zon.

In his speech, the Minister of Culture highlighted Pramoedya's famous quote, "People can be smart as the sky, but as long as he doesn't write, then he will disappear from society and from history." According to Fadli, this message is relevant for the younger generation to continue to write and contribute to the nation's cultural abundance.

Pramoedya Ananta Toer, writing masterpieces such as Bumi Manusia and Rumah Kaca, has inspired the journey of Indonesian literature to the international level.

His works are invaluable heritages that must continue to be cared for. Pram has raised collective awareness about the struggle, humanity, and national identity," said Fadli Zon.
